Call for Art: Reflections 2026 – In the Footsteps of Frederic Edwin Church
Boreal Theater invites artists of all ages and experience levels to participate in Reflections 2026: In the Footsteps of Frederic Edwin Church, a community exhibition celebrating the beauty, history, and enduring spirit of Maine’s North Woods.
Inspired by the landscapes that captivated renowned 19th-century painter Frederic Edwin Church, this year’s Reflections Project encourages artists to explore the places, stories, and natural wonders that continue to inspire creativity today. Whether your work was created during one of our plein air events, in your classroom, or independently in your studio, we welcome artwork that reflects a personal connection to the Katahdin region and its remarkable landscape.
Through this exhibition, we celebrate the artistic legacy of the past while showcasing the diverse voices and perspectives of today’s artists. We invite you to share your vision and become part of this community-wide celebration of art, nature, and place.
The exhibition will be on view at Boreal Theater from November 7, 2026, through January 7, 2027. We look forward to seeing the many ways our community reflects the landscapes that continue to inspire us all.
