Welcome Amanda Albanese — Boreal Theater’s New Program Director!

The Boreal Theater is thrilled to welcome Amanda Albanese as our new Program Director. A passionate artist, educator, and community arts advocate, Amanda brings a dynamic blend of creative vision, teaching experience, and hands-on program coordination to her new role.

Amanda holds an MAT from Maine College of Art & Design, an MFA in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, and dual undergraduate degrees in Fine Art and Psychology from Flagler College. Over the past decade, she has taught art in both traditional classrooms and virtual settings, inspiring students at institutions in Maine, California, and Rhode Island. Her teaching has always centered on creativity, critical thinking, and community connection—values that align deeply with the Boreal Theater’s mission.

In addition to her work in education, Amanda has developed strong skills in community engagement, event coordination, and arts programming. She has curated exhibitions, led collaborative art initiatives, and worked closely with students, artists, and community members to bring creative projects to life. She is also well-versed in marketing and visual communications, with experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, social media outreach, and graphic design.

Amanda is already an active member of the Millinocket community, volunteering with the Millinocket Memorial Library to support arts programming and serving as part of a therapy dog team at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Her warm presence, organizational skill, and artistic energy will help the Boreal continue to grow as a creative hub for the Katahdin region.

We’re excited for the many ways Amanda will help expand and deepen Boreal Theater’s cultural programming—bringing performances, exhibits, and creative opportunities to life for our community. Her position is made possible through a generous donation from the Sewall Foundation.

Welcome, Amanda!
