Darrell Morrow – Biography:
Darrell studied music at USM in the mid seventies majoring in piano/music education. He taught at Massabesic HS in Waterboro, Maine for twenty years serving as band and choral director for most of those years. In 1996 Darrell accepted the choral position at Gorham HS where he taught for 13 years as director of choirs, piano and guitar classes. Darrell has extensive experience as a musical director/pianist. He directed high quality HS musical productions nearly every year of his long teaching career. Other credits include: ~Musical director for Best of Broadway 2005, an annual Portland area production featuring the best local talent in concert to benefit the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. ~Annual Masterworks Choral Festival hosted by Gorham HS featuring local HS choirs combining for a performance of an extended choral work under the direction of Dr. Robert Russell of USM. Darrell organized and accompanied this event for each of his 13 years at GHS. Darrell retired in June ’09 when he was named Maine HS Choral Director of the year. He is active as piano accompanist presently enjoying playing for the Windham Chamber SIngers. He also plays jazz piano in the area and throughout Maine. Darrell is a lifelong Maine resident, has three grown children and lives in Gorham with his wife Susan.
