Community Poetry Reading & Potluck

Fri, April 24 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Community-Poetry-Reading

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Boreal Theater to celebrate National Poetry Month on Friday, April 24th, 5:30-6:30 PM! It was a wonderful evening of connection, creativity, and shared stories. From the warm, welcoming potluck to the powerful and heartfelt poetry readings, the space was filled with generosity, courage, and inspiration.

We’re especially grateful to the poets who shared their work and made the evening so memorable. One reader shared original songs reimagined as poems. Another poet read from a small, well-worn bound book, clearly cared for and cherished, just like the words within it. We also heard selections from a collected volume of short stories and poems written in response to specific prompts, offering a glimpse into a wider creative community. And one poet offered thoughtful reflections on topics both near and far—each piece deeply personal and evident in its delivery and style.

We’re so thankful to everyone who brought dishes, shared their voices, or simply came to listen and be part of the community. Every presence helped make the night special.

Enjoy a few excerpts and images from the evening below—we hope they capture just a bit of the magic we experienced together.
